About the silicone

Silicone grips better on dry skin. Lotion, sweat and repeated washing all reduce it. The grip fades gradually over the life of the sock.

Silicone sits against your skin. Some people find it uncomfortable or irritating. The fabric-band line has no silicone at all.

Without silicone

The closest thing we make with no silicone at all is the Band 34, a 34 mm cuff for openings up to 50 mm. It is 12 mm higher than this one, so check it against your shoe before swapping.

A 22 mm cuff has very little fabric holding it. If silicone doesn't work for your heel shape, this line is not for you.

  • At 22 mm there is very little fabric above the heel. Almost all of the hold comes from one silicone dot.
  • If silicone has not worked for your heel before, start with the fabric-band line instead. The lowest cuff there is 34 mm.

Stand on a sheet of paper, mark the back of the heel and the end of the longest toe, and measure between them. That millimetre figure is more reliable than the size printed in your shoe.
